This is your overall site rank as
compared to all the other members onsite.
To calculate your ranking, we measure over 15 different site activities,
ranks, and points. We then take those figures and use a mathematical formula which
then ranks you. We no longer rank poets just on site points.
Emerging Poets List
Poets who
not only participate daily, but who also score high in the following areas of
participation, will appear on the weekly Emerging Poets list. It's our way of
challenging you!

Ranks
Esteem
Ranks monitor your rise up the poet and reviewer ranks. It is the second most comprehensive
achievement program we have. A full explanation of the

Poet Experience
Level
Your Poetry Experience Level measures your activity as a poet.
It is determined by 3 factors:
1.
There are a minimum number of posts within each level.
2. Each time you post to a different Category, you
receive 5 points.
3. Each time you post to a different Form, you receive
10 points.
.
Your level is then determined by adding 1-3 and
dividing by 3. There are 30 Poetry Experience Levels to aspire to. The
lower your Poetry Experience Level #, the more you have achieved. To illustrate,
Level 30 is just beginning, and Level 1 is the highest level you can achieve.
So, go for it!

We will be completely revamping our Poetry Contest system and operation as soon as funding
permits. However, all of our poetry contests will now be free!

Poets
of the Month
There are
4 possible awards you can win each and every month! And, since we reset the stats each
period, everyone has an opportunity to win. We try hard not to give the same poets awards
month in and month out.
So, even
if you ranked high in a given award category, we may choose another poet based
upon how many awards you have won. This
keeps it fair for everyone!

POET OF THE MONTH
The poet who attains the highest average position within the three
other categories, listed below.
TOP PERFORMER
The poet who has the highest average score for both their Poetry
Ratings and their Reviewer Ratings.
TOP REVIEWER
The poet who has the highest average Reviewer Rating.
TOP RATED
The poet who has the highest average Poetry Rating.
Note: The icon symbols are
the same for Poets of the Quarter, and Poets of the Year, just the colors are
different!

Publishable
Poems
If a poet rates one of your poems
as publishable, then the icon above will appear below your poem! If many poets rate the same poem as
publishable, the number of times it was rated as publishable will also be listed.
You are allowed to award 5
publishable ratings per month.
You are allowed to award 20
publishable ratings per poet, per year.

Reviewer Experience
Level
Your Reviewer
Experience Level measures your activity as a reviewer. It is
determined simply by the number of reviews you have posted on
site. Each level has a minimum amount of reviews to
submit. The levels are established
exactly like the levels for your Poetry Experience Levels, and are
named exactly the same.

Ruminations Poetry Journal
Our
online print journal is published each quarter. We feature past award winners, post
articles, post random poetry of our members, and other standard columns! Read the current issue.

Site
Favorites
If poets
like your poem enough, they can award it a Site Favorite Rating. Receive enough Site Favorite
Ratings, and your poem could receive additional exposure by appearing on the
exclusive Site Favorites page!
The heart
icon will forever be linked to your poem, as well as the number of Site
Favorite ratings it has received.

Poem Challenges
Every Monday of each week, we post
a new Sticky Poem Challenge. Create
a poem out of given tiles, and on Saturday, poets vote for their favorite Sticky Poem!

World
Achievements Rank
As you collect the different icons
and planets with icons (see below), you are ranked along with other members.
Your World Achievement Rank is determined not only by how many icons and planets you
have earned, but also the type of icons.
In other words, if you have earned
a great many of the teal icons – your rank will be higher than someone who
has earned, for example, mostly blue icons. It's just another fun way you
can see and measure your progress on the site.

As you write and review poetry, enter challenges
and contests, you will earn various icons. The icons, in turn, allow you to earn
planets. Earn all the planets and become a Poet of the Universe!
